A case of a new condition called ‘ flurona ‘ has been found abroad.
It is thought to be a combination of viruses, but it’s not yet known whether it’s more dangerous than the regular forms of the viruses, with scientists now analysing to try and find an answer.
The cocktail was first seen in Israel in a patient undergoing analysis in a hospital, it was reported locally. It is understood they had already been in hospital, where tests discovered the condition.
The patient is a young unvaccinated pregnant woman. It is believed other patients with flurona are likely to exist, however, this is yet to be verified.
What is flurona?
The new condition is a combination of influenza and Coronavirus.
The Covid cocktail is essentially a mix of the two viral diseases, which both fall into the same bracket.
Both can independently cause difficulty to respiratory systems as they attack the viral tract.
What are the symptoms of flurona?
Information surrounding the new discovery is currently limited, although the medics who treated the infected woman say her symptoms are mild despite her unvaccinated status.
However, she is thought to have had some breathing problems.
Speaking to local news outlet Hamodia, Arnon Vizhnitser, director of the gynaecology department of Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva city said: “She was diagnosed with the flu and coronavirus as soon as she arrived.
“Both tests came back positive, even after we checked again.
“The disease is the same disease: they’re viral and cause difficulty breathing since both attack the upper respiratory tract.”
On Friday, Israel began giving a fourth shot of the vaccine to people with compromised immune systems.
What to do if you think you have Covid
