We simulated Burnley vs Man City to get a score prediction

Manchester City face relegation-threatened Burnley on Saturday with the Blues looking to stay ahead of Liverpool in the title race.

City currently sit on top of the Premier League by a single point after Liverpool closed the gap to Pep Guardiola’s side with a win against Arsenal following City’s 0-0 draw to Crystal Palace. The Blues play at 3pm on Saturday and will be aware of the result between Liverpool and Watford in the early kick-off, which could see City two points behind when the game against Burnley gets underway.

So, what line-ups will both teams select and what could the final score be? We used FIFA 22 to get a score prediction for Burnley against Man City on Saturday and this is what happened. We used kick-off mode in FIFA 22, but didn’t select a team to control, we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a score prediction.

We predict that Man City could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Edison; Walker, Ake, Laporte, Cancelo; Rodri, De Bruyne, Silva; Mahrez, Foden, Grealish.

We predict that Burnley could set up in a 4-4-2 formation, with their line-up as follows: Pope; Roberts, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor; Lennon, Westwood, Brownhill, McNeill; Cornet, Weghorst.

City put Burnley under pressure straight away and found an opening goal within 10 minutes of play as Jack Grealish volleyed the ball past Pope to make it 1-0. Grealish received the ball in space inside the penalty box after some good work from Phil Foden, as the £100million summer signing had his shot saved at first, before volleying home the rebound to give Guardiola’s side an early lead at Turf Moor.

Dwight McNeill was able to cut inside on his right foot and slide the ball through to the Dutch striker who fired his shot first time past the Brazilian ‘keeper, leaving City with it all to do in the second half.

City moved up a gear in the second half and started to create more chances and put Burnley under further pressure as Riyad Mahrez came close to putting the visitors ahead with a curled effort from the edge of the box. Phil Foden hit the crossbar on the hour mark as Nick Pope managed to tip the 21-year-old’s shot onto the woodwork and behind for a corner.
