Manchester United take on Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday, with the club looking to end the season strongly ahead of Erik ten Hag’s arrival in the summer.
United played their final game of the season at Old Trafford last week with a 3-0 win over Brentford. They now play their final two games of the season away from home, with trips to Brighton before Crystal Palace on the final day.
United players will be looking to put in strong performances in their remaining games in the hopes to impress incoming manager Erik Ten Hag as the Reds prepare for a busy summer transfer window. United will get a close look at Brighton’s Moises Caicedo this weekend after they were interested in bringing the Ecuadorian midfielder to Old Trafford last year, but talks became compromised by the involvement of various intermediaries, with a source telling the Manchester Evening Newsthe deal became ‘too messy’.

So, what line-ups will both teams select? And, what could the final score be? We used FIFA 22 to get a score prediction for United versus Brighton on Saturday and this is what happened…
Man United v Brighton score predicted by simulation
We used kick-off mode in FIFA 22, but didn’t select a team to control, we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a score prediction.
We predict that United could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Lindelof, Telles; McTominay, Matic; Elanga, Mata, Fernandes; Ronaldo.
We predict that Brighton could set up in a 5-2-2-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Sanchez; Lamptey, Veltman, Dunk, Webster, Cucurella; Bissouma, Caicedo; MacAllister, Trossard; Welbeck.
United started the game well and soon found the lead after Veltman inadvertently turned the ball into his own net after Juan Mata’s shot was deflected on target. The Dutch defender stuck his head out to block the ball and clear it, but the ball looped past Sanchez in the Brighton goal to put United 1-0 up in the 10th minute.
Ralf Rangnick’s side continued to build on their early advantage as they searched for a second with Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes threatening for the away side. Ronaldo almost doubled United’s lead but his effort from him from distance struck the post and went behind for a goal kick.
Scott McTominay popped up inside the penalty box to grab the Reds’ second of the game with a brilliant finish into the top right corner. Mata started the move by feeding the ball wide to Fernandes who drifted into the box before cutting it back for the Scottish midfielder to rifle the ball home and make it 2-0 in the 34th minute.
United weren’t finished there as Bruno Fernandes added a third on the stroke of half-time with another top finish into the corner of the Brighton goal. Diogo Dalot burst down the right wing on the counter-attack, playing the ball inside to Ronaldo who clipped the ball into the box towards Fernandes, with the Portuguese playmaker lashing the ball into the top left corner giving Sanchez no hope of saving the shot putting United 3-0 up on the south coast.
United were unable to build on their 3-0 lead in the second half despite dominating the game as Brighton struggled to create many chances. Rangnick’s side cruised to victory at the American Express Community Stadium with United cementing their place in a Europa League qualification spot in the Premier League.
FIFA 22 predicted final score: Brighton 0-3 Manchester United
Here are the full-time match stats.
FIFA 22 predicts that United could cruise to victory against Brighton with goals from Fernandes and McTominay, along with a Veltman own goal, sealing all three points and cementing their Europa League qualifying position in the Premier League. Whilst Champions League qualification depends on the results of Arsenal and Tottenham, United put in an impressive performance as the players look to play for their place in ten Hag’s squad for next season.
