Philip Schofield took to Instagram on Thursday to share a behind the scenes glimpse of the This Morning crew starting his birthday celebrations a day early.

The presenter, who turns 60 on Friday, was surprised with cake and balloons as well as two bottles of £440 Pol Roger champagne.

Sharing the sweet clips, Phillip can be seen becoming a little overwhelmed as he thanked his colleagues and co-host Holly Willoughby.

The broadcaster was surprised with a chocolate cake by staff as he sat in the make-up chair before Thursday’s show.

As the team sang, co-host Holly could be seen in the mirror recording the festivities on her phone, playfully shouting ‘and many more’ at the climax songs.
