The competition has triggered the offers of the big telecos, with low cost proposals from classic operators and also from virtual ones. The basic offers, with internet, landline and mobile with data from five gigabytes per month start at 29 euros per month. The rates, obtained with the help of the OCU comparator, are final, not specific offers during a specific period of time that, once the term has passed, raise costs.
These proposals do not take into account the counter offers made by telecoms to avoid portability or cancellations. Vodafone has even institutionalized the continuity of the offers obtained after a retention. Days before the end of the period of permanence linked to that price, the teleco offers the client, directly on the internet, to continue with essentially the same price and the same services for another period of time, in exchange for signing the corresponding portability.
Several Movistar clients explain to this newspaper that, after contracting an offer for portability to Movistar, they offered them, for six months a price of 55 euros per month with television – football included -, two mobile lines with 20 gigabytes of data and 1,000 mega speed have been renewing the rate when contacting customer service.
That price, absolutely out of the market, has a handicap. From customer service, and to avoid having to make a portability attempt to keep the offer, they proposed to change the landline number and also the installation. The price compensates them, for the moment, the transfer of technicians every six months compensates them. For a similar package, the usual price exceeds 100 euros per month.
Apart from these formulas outside the window, the OCU rate comparator reveals 82 offers that start at any speed on the internet, a landline with unlimited calls to other landlines, as well as at least five gigabytes of internet on the mobile . These are the nine cheapest proposals, although not all are available in all Spanish regions. Installation is always free.
