The musical performances of the Goya





The Goya Awards have returned, like every year, to reward the best of Spanish cinema in its 36th edition and, once again, musical performances have been one of the highlights of the gala. Leiva, Joaquín Sabina, C.Tangana and Luz Casal have taken over from Aitana, Vanesa Martín, Diana Navarro and Nathy Peluso, who provided the music for the last edition of the Spanish film festival.

The ceremony started with the musical number of the actresses and singers Jedet, Bebe and Cristina Castañowho have opened the gala walking among the public interpreting an energetic version of Freeby Nino Bravowhich has been joined by a large group of dancers to accompany them on stage.

Jedet had declared on his way through the red carpet that he would dedicate the performance to his co-star in the series Poisonactress Isabel Torres, who died this Friday of cancer.

C. Tangana has presented an unpublished song

C. Tangana has been one of the most anticipated artists of the night, however, he has been in the background during his performance. Together with an impeccable Rita Payés, the great protagonist of the performance, ‘El Madrileño’ has presented I worship you, one of the songs from his next album the desktop, which will launch next week. An intimate bolero in which Tangana’s fans, who remained seated behind Payés during the first part of the song, have only been able to enjoy a brief intervention by the singer.

This Saturday RTVE.es has released the teaser trailer for one year one night, the new film by Isaki Lacuesta in which C. Tangana will make his debut as an actor. He will share a cast with Nahuel Pérez Biscayart, Noémie Merlant, Quim Guitiérrez and Alba Aguilera.

Sabina’s return with Leiva

Joaquín Sabina, who has returned to the stage after a two-year hiatus, has stepped onto the Goya stage for the first time together with his partner and friend Leiva on guitar. A performance full of complicity in which they have performed So young and so old one of the classics of the jienense from his album I, my, me, with me, released in 1996.

Sabina, who announced a few months ago her intention not to return to the stage “as long as people are wearing masks,” said she would return to say “hello and goodbye.” But nevertheless, “no bye guys”says one of the final phrases of the song chosen for tonight.

Luz Casal remembers the absent

Luz Casal has been in charge of putting the melody to the In Memoriam of this edition, with an emotional interpretation of black shadowwhich was the soundtrack of the movie out to sea. The personalities of Spanish culture who have left us this year have been rememberedsuch as Veronica Forqué, Rafaella Carrá or Almudena Grandes.

It was the first time for the artist at the Goya awards, despite having received a statuette in 2002 for his nomination for your animated forest. Casal decided not to attend that year due to the nerves that the nomination caused him but, 20 years after that, this time “it was my turn to come,” Casal said during the red carpet. Years before, the singer-songwriter performed Think of me Y a year of loveincluded in the tape high heels by Pedro Almodovar.
