The deadline to submit to the Osakidetza OPE will open on January 25

Osakidetza will draw 3,535 places from the opposition in two phases. In the first, 1611 places will be offered, among which are 322 places for Family Medicine and 62 for Pediatrics. The BOPV has published today the bases of the call.

The Official Gazette of the Basque Country (BOPV) publishes this Tuesday and Wednesday the bases of the call to fill the 3535 places of the Osakidetza OPE 2018-2019, which will be developed in two phases as well as the agenda for each category and the bibliography. The deadline for submitting applications for the first phase will start on January 25 and will last until 2:00 p.m. on February 24.

Osakidetza has enabled on the web a section where you can consult all the information, such as the general and specific agenda for each category and the bibliography. In this first group, 1,611 places will be offered for a total of 19 categories, such as family and pediatric doctors, nurses -including specialization in occupational and mental health-, physiotherapist, midwife, diploma in optics and optometry, as well as speech therapy , occupational therapist, social worker, technical specialist in pathological anatomy, specialist in hearing aid and dietetics, in health documentation, in radiodiagnosis, in radiotherapy or administrative.

Among the places that are offered in this first group, there are those destined to reinforce Primary CareHow are the 322 Family Medicine places and the 62 Pediatrics.

The first phase exams will be held, foreseeably, between the months of mayo Y July, Although more detailed information about the place, day and time of the tests will be provided soon.

In a second phase, in spring 2022, all the remaining categories will be included.

OPE with “maximum guarantees”

The Department of Health has reported, in a statement, that this OPE will allow the workforce to be strengthened and provide greater stability in this network, as well as in the entire health system.

Osakidetza stressed that the OPE call will have “the maximum guarantees in order to select the best professionals and attract talent, complying with the principles of equality, merit, capacity, objectivity, impartiality, transparency, agility and reliability”, which is “the end goal”.

For this, as explained, measures such as the election of courts by lottery, the reduction of their members or the approval of a code of conduct will be implemented.

Regarding the preparation of the exams, he pointed out that those who are part of the courts will have a manual. Each court may decide whether to assume responsibility for the preparation of the evidence or to entrust this task to an external body with experience in the matter.

The Basque Health Service has also pointed out that the preparation of the practical part will not depend on a single person and it is planned to introduce a random element in order to “ensure that no one who participates in the selection process can have knowledge of the final content Of the test”.
