Mikel Arteta takes his side to the south coast today in what is another must-win game for the Gunners, but at half-time it’s Southampton who lead 1-0.
Alexandre Lacazette misses out for the Gunners with Covid, while Nuno Tavares starts after a tough period for the youngster as Granit Xhaka returns to the midfield.
Arsenal were certainly better than they have been in recent games in the early stages, with Gabriel Martinelli cutting inside and having a curling strike saved by Forster.
That was a decent save from the English goalkeeper, but what followed shortly afterwards was absolutely sensational. The Gunners broke quickly after winning it back, Martinelli rolled it across the face of goal and Saka looked to have a tap-in, only for Forster to fly across and tip the shot over superbly.
Cedric Soares wasted a couple of set-piece opportunities and Southampton then started to grow into the match as the half went on. They got their reward on the verge of half-time.
Mohamed Elyounoussi did well to keep the ball in, he cut it back for Bednarek and the centre-half swept the shot past Aaron Ramsdale.
With kick-off at 3pm, keep up to date with all the action via Standard Sport’s live blog, as Simon Collings provides expert analysis from the ground…
67 min: More than 80% possession in the second-half from Arsenal – that counts for nothing though.
Lokonga lumps a hopeful ball forward to Martinelli, who does well to cause a nuisance and Saka wins the knock-down.
Gunners continue to play it side-to-side… don’t look like finding a way through.
64 min: Saka decides to try and do it all himself and very nearly does!
Picks it up on the right wing, drifts inside past three challenges and fires an effort towards the far corner. Forster at full stretch but he was relatively confident that he was always going wide.
61 min: Odegaard clips the ball into the box, drops for Smith Rowe. He catches the strike really cleanly but it’s blocked… but Martinelli.
Looks like Tavares and Saka as the wing backs, with Xhaka dropping into a back three.
60 min: An hour gone and Arteta turns to his bench for the first time – not exactly a straight swap!
Cedric off, Smith Rowe on to replace him. Saka has gone out to the right for now, will see if it stays like that.
58 min: Great effort from Nketiah, nearly makes something out of nothing.
Cedric’s cross is not a great one, behind Nketiah but he flicks it towards the back post and it flies just wide.
56 min: White caught late by Broja and that will be a yellow card for the Southampton man. Completely unnecessary….very little contact too.

Arteta needs to change this. Arsenal have 35 minutes to go and they still look blunt up top. Pepe and Smith Rowe are out warming up.
54 min: Broja played in behind… no, offside flag up.
There’s a lot of space there for the Southampton players when they do win it back, Arsenal look vulnerable.
51 min: Lokonga plays it through to Odegaard and he has plenty of space to drive into.
Slides the pass through to Nketiah, forced a bit wide so he looks for the cut back. Easily defended.
Arsenal back on the attack, Tavares on his right foot goes for goal from 25 yards out. Still-rising.
49 min: Tavares fires a shot at goal, takes a flick off a defender and behind for a corner.
Goes to the near post, White flicks it on… none of his teammates there to get on the end of it though.
