The downward trend also slows down with the rise in the reproductive index, which stands at 1.08, although the situation in hospitals continues to improve.
The cumulative incidence of the pandemic has practically stalled in the Basque Country and has not managed to drop below 100 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days. After an increase on Friday and a decrease on Saturday, in the last hours this indicator has risen one point and stands at 104.10 cases, due to the rise in this indicator due to infections among young people.
In addition, the downward trend in the evolution of covid-19 slows down with the rise in reproductive index (R0) which is located in 1,08 (It was 1.06 the day before).
According to the latest data from the epidemiological bulletin of the Basque Department of Health, this Sunday 4,821 diagnostic tests have been carried out and detected 142 new positives, three infections less than a day before. Thus, the positive rate Regarding the tests carried out, it is 2,9 %. Despite everything, the healthcare pressure continues to improve.
By territories, this Sunday 77 new positives have been detected in Bizkaia, another 56 in Gipuzkoa and Álava has counted only seven. Added to them are two infections between people living outside the Basque Autonomous Community.
It is striking that 58 of the infections detected yesterday occurred among people between 0 and 18 years old, which is the age group with the highest accumulated incidence: 190.47 cases. Of those 58, 38 have been detected among young people between 17 and 18 years old.
The accumulated incidence in Álava continues to decrease and is already at 94.49. In Bizkaia this rate stands at 111.48 cases and in Gipuzkoa it is 89.25.
Zumaia has returned to the red zone, while 11 locations have gone green.
Yesterday too the R0 index worsened, which is once again above 1, which means that the disease spreads more easily because each infected person can infect more than one person. Specifically, the R0 is at 1.08.
This indicator has improved in Álava, where it goes from 0.96 to 0.92, but it has worsened in Bizkaia, which goes from 0.91 to 0.93, and is still very bad in Gipuzkoa where it registered 1.49 compared to 1 , 50 the day before.
The incidence rate ratio also worsens (which compares the current 14-day cumulative incidence rate with that of a week ago), which is 0,91.
Yesterday there were 35 people with covid admitted to the ICU, the same as the day before, and only 48 were on the floor. However, new hospitalizations for coronavirus rose from seven to 11.
