In addition, 19 people have died from covid-19 in the last week. The number of people admitted has increased by 59 in just four days. Gipuzkoa exceeds the threshold of 1,100 accumulated cases.
The virus continues to hit the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) with force, which accumulates an incidence of 724 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The rise of positives, 9,608 cases among November 29 and December 5, is also being transferred to hospitals, which already have 266 people on the floor and 70 in the critical unit, according to the epidemiological bulletin published by the Department of Health of the Basque Government.
In fact, almost all the indicators included in the bulletin have worsened compared to the previous one, with the exception of R0 index, which drops three hundredths from 1.26 to 1.23, although it is still higher than 1 (so a positive infects more than one person). The most significant increases occur in incidence, 150 points more than in the previous bulletin, and the number of ICU beds, which are 15 more than on Thursday. The number of critical patients accumulates 10 days of uninterrupted upload.
The bulletin also throws bad data regarding deaths from coronavirus, and almost repeats the data of the previous one, with 19 deaths (one more than a week ago). This is the highest number on record since the end of September.
The cumulative incidence continues to escalate and stands at 724 cases. By territories, Gipuzkoa is still the most punished, since it has 1177 cases accumulated in the last 14 days. They are followed by Álava, with 707 cases and Bizkaia, with 432 cases. The rate in Gipuzkoa has grown by 311 points since Thursday, while in Álava it has done so by 283. Bizkaia has also increased values (+123), although not so marked. Curiously, Gipuzkoa has the lowest R0 (how many people infect a positive) (1.19), followed by Bizkaia (1.28) and Álava (1.29).
As for infections (9,608, in total), they have not dropped a single day of the thousand and the peak of the week was registered on Wednesday, with almost 1,700 new positives. The positivity rate exceeds 10%, and this Sunday it reached 13.6%.
By age groups, the group between 0-9 years continues to be the most affected by the virus, since it accumulates an incidence of 1,343 cases per 100,000. The rate in this age range has risen almost 300 points in the last four days. The group between 40 and 49 years old has a rate of 918, and people between 10 and 19 years old, 915 cases.
In detail, the age group between 6 and 12 years, pending the pediatric vaccine, accumulates an incidence of 2080 cases. Of the 1,113 new cases detected this Sunday, 219 correspond to this group.
By locality, red continues to stain the BAC, and there is no longer any municipality with more than 5000 inhabitants outside the high transmission area. In all of them, they must decide whether to continue with those activities in which preventive health measures cannot be maintained, or to suspend them.
The accumulated rates of Azpeitia (Gipuzkoa), which now close to 3,000 cases, or the Gipuzkoans Andoain, Arrasate, Eibar, Eskoriatza, Hernani, Lazkao, Urretxu, and Zumarraga, with more than 1,500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, are worrying.
