As every year, on the occasion of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Feminist Movement of Euskal Herria has called mobilizations throughout the Basque geography.
The main manifestations will take place in the afternoon in Pamplona, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Bayonne, Bilbao and Saint Sebastian under the motto ‘¡Lives free of sexist violence now! ‘. The squares and streets of all the Basque towns will also be dyed purple.
Likewise, in the morning hundreds of people participated in the rallies that took place in front of town halls, councils and other institutions to denounce sexist violence.
The Basque Parliament has interrupted the plenary session at noon so that the parliamentarians could take part in a rally outside the building, which throughout the day will wear a purple dot, symbol of the fight against sexist violence and will be illuminated in this same color.
The Government and Parliament of Navarra has held a rally in Paseo Sarasate in which representatives of the entire parliamentary arch have participated, led by its president, Unai Hualde.
The event was organized by the Navarre Institute for Equality (INAI) and consisted of keeping a minute of silence, after which the director of INAI, Eva Istúriz, assured that the objective was to “show rejection of any type of aggression against women “.
The municipal corporation of Pamplona City Council, with the mayor of Enrique Maya at the helm, has concentrated this Thursday in the Plaza Consistorial to denounce that against women and girls “structural violence is exercised in a thousand different ways, in all public and private spheres, and in all classes social and cultural contexts “.

The manifestation of Bilbao feminist movement will begin at 19:30 hours in Sacred Heart. However, previously, they will come out multiple columns from different neighborhoods to meet at the starting point. Specifically, these columns will come from the neighborhoods where there has been the most aggression in the last year.
– At 6:00 p.m. from the Plaza de Bilbao La Vieja, which will tour the surroundings of Urazurrutia.
– At 6:30 p.m. from Prim Street to visit the surroundings of Iturribide.
In San Sebastián, the feminist collective has called a demonstration from the boulevard. The march will go out at 7:30 p.m. and will walk the streets of the city.
The demonstration will depart at 20:00 hours from the Plaza Baluarte and it will end in the Paseo de Sarasate.
The manifestation of the Feminist Movement of Vitoria-Gasteiz will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the Iparralde Civic Center.
In Baiona the demonstration will start at 6:00 p.m. from Plaza Moracín.
