It’s the 2021 EITB Marathon is dedicated to Alzheimer’s with the motto Alzheimer’s is a heart disease. The objective of the campaign is, on the one hand, to sensitize society to the disease, and on the other, to raise money that will be used for Alzheimer’s research. The big day of EITB Maratoia 2021 will be on December 16, but as of November 15, we immerse ourselves fully in the communication campaign with participatory action is 2021: ‘Facing Alzheimer’s, let’s not forget’. The bell invites citizens to send their memories to the web. They will be able to share their memories easily and simply through the EITB Maratoia website at It’s about a digital space dedicated to people’s most cherished memories, where you can save photos, audio notes, videos and texts.

The start of this action took place this Monday 15, by the hand of Skin Repair, leader of the group ZETAK, who is the one who puts the soundtrack to this edition with the theme “How beautiful it will be”. Reparaz himself has shared his own memories with EITB Maratoia in photo format. In addition, within the framework of EITB Maratoia 2021, the ZETAK group will offer a special concert on November 25, at the Victoria Eugenia in Donostia-San Sebasti├ín, at 7:30 p.m. The live show is jointly organized by EITB and LABORAL Kutxa, and the cost of entry will be in the hands of each attendee, through the solidarity donation in Bizum (33478). Tickets will be available as of November 16, at 11:30 a.m., on the Donosatia Kultura website (from 2:00 p.m.) and at the theater box office (from 11:30 a.m.). ZETAK is an electronic music project in Basque that was born from the hand of the always restless Pello Reparaz.

Participatory action: ‘Facing Alzheimer’s, let’s not forget’

This year the motto of EITB Maratoia is Alzheimer’s is a heart disease, since it is a memory-erasing disease and people’s dearest memories. That is why a space dedicated to memory has been launched where we can see, save and share the memories that we do not want to forget. The campaign invites citizens to send their memories to this digital space, where we can save all kinds of memories, from audio notes, to images, videos and texts. All these memories will be collected to create a video clip with the song “Zeinen ederra izango den”.

EITB Maratoia wants to encourage citizens to join this year also in participatory action: How?

By sending your most emotional memories in the form of images, video, text or audio notes.

-And / or, as an alternative, getting involved with the cause by sending your particular version of the song “How beautiful it will be” by ZETAK. The website itself has the song in karaoke format and the lyrics.

Furthermore, as in previous editions, all these contributions from the public will be published on the EITB Maratoia website.
