It briefly looks like Rashica has time to shoot from the right of the box, but the window of opportunity closes. Pukki retains the ball until the pair can receive more support. By that point Burnley are well-stocked again at the back.

Again Burnley give the ball away sloppily. Pukki’s run into the box is tracked well by Tarkowski. When the Finn’s shot finally comes, he’s in the right place to stop it.

Byram tugs on Cornet’s shirt to hand Burnley a free-kick. Norwich win the first header. Lennon’s cross is met by Rodriguez, who ca n’t control his header. Dyche shouts words of encouragement to his team from the technical area.

Lees-Melou spots Rashica’s run down the middle and attempts to free him with a throughball. Burnley are able to cut it out just in time.

Norwich start the second 45 minutes brightly. Pukki’s drive from the edge of the box is blocked before Rashica’s dipping effort lands straight into the arms of Pope.

Burnley had 11 shots in the first half, their most in an away league game this season, but they still haven’t been able to break down Norwich. The Canaries are unbeaten this season when leading at half-time, while the Clarets have never come back to win a Premier League game away from home when trailing at the break in 64 attempts. If the Lancastrians are ever going to pull it off, now is the time.

Norwich lead at half-time in a game which holds more importance for Burnley at this point. The hosts went ahead in the opening 10 minutes thanks to Lees-Melou’s precise strike, and have weathered spells of Burnley pressure since. It’s a big second half coming up for the Clarets, as even a draw wouldn’t really help them.
