Queen singer Adam Lambert is one of the judges on ITV’s new singing competition Starstruck.
If you have fond memories of Stars in Their Eyes then this new show will be right up your street. Starstruck focuses on contestants transforming into their musical idol for a special performance.
The slight twist compared to Stars in Their Eyes is that there are three performers on the stage at the same time – all performing as the nominated music icon.

Olly Murs is the host of ITV show Starstruck and will be guiding the performers while the celeb judges joining American Idol star Adam Lambert include award-winning actress Sheridan Smith, soul sensation Beverley Knight and comedian Jason Manford.
The audience will also be apart of the judging process.

Adam Lambert, 40, has sold millions of albums and singles worldwide. Lambert rose to fame in 2009 after finishing as runner up on the eighth season of American Idol. Later that year, he released his debut album For Your Entertainment.
He has gained an army of fans while appearing on the American talent show which has seen him enjoy a hugely-successful music career. This has seen the star win a host of awards down the years.
Since 2011, Adam Lambert has collaborated with the surviving members of Queen as their frontman, with his impressive vocal range allowing him to replicate some of the legendary Freddie Mercury’s high notes.
Lambert started touring with Roger Taylor and Brian May of Queen in June 2014, with 35 dates in North America, Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. It was a critical and commercial success, as reviews highlighted the musical virtuosity of May and Taylor, alongside Lambert’s impressive vocal dexterity, charisma and affinity with Queen’s repertoire.
Adam Lambert spoke to the Express about the inevitable task of stepping into Freddie Mercury’s shoes. He said: “All of us sat down and we had a drink, and there was a sense of camaraderie in that moment about ‘Look what we just did.
“This feels good. I like you. I like you. You like me. It was an instant sense of sort of comfort and ease that we all had with each other. We all sort of got a kick out of each other and felt like the right fit, it felt good.”
Love life and equality campaigning
Adam Lambert is openly gay and regularly advocates his belief in equality. The singer was in a relationship with Finnish entertainment reporter and reality TV personality Sauli Koskinen from November 2010 until April 2013. From March to November 2019, Lambert was in a relationship with model Javi Costa Polo.
Adam Lambert has received a number of awards and accolades for his gay rights campaigning. He said: “I feel like with celebrity and visibility and fame, there’s a responsibility to try to give back and try to use the visibility for the greater good.
