Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are using a £2,000-a-night Hilton hotel as their base during this year’s Invictus Games.

The Royal couple are staying at a swanky hotel in the middle of The Hague, for the event.

Online Mail reported the Duke and Duchess of Sussex booked into the Dutch hotel after arriving in the city with their team.

This includes former-US presidential bodyguard, Christopher Sanchez, who is protecting the couple.

The luxurious royal suite they’re staying in boasts a king size bed and two showers, and stunning city views.

Harry and Meghan would have been able to access the suite from a private lift, directly from an underground car park.

It was also reported that the hotel closed its Executive lounge from last Wednesday to Saturday so the couple could use it for meetings with their aides.

This comes as today, speaking on the BBC’s One Show, Prince Harry praised the “extraordinary” commitment of Ukrainians taking part in the games.

The 37-year-old said the games would “not be the same” without the Ukrainian team, many of whom, he revealed, had been serving in the war effort in some capacity before leaving.

He said: “The whole world is definitely behind Ukraine, but again, is that enough?

“Because when you get to see them and speak to them, and see in their eyes the experiences and the things they’ve seen just in the last few weeks.

“It’s really hard. It’s emotional to think they all jumped on the bus, firstly they had to make the decision to come, which was hard enough anyway.

“Then they jumped on the coach, probably slept all the way and I think what people need to remember or don’t even know yet is that the vast majority of the Ukrainian team was serving in some shape or form.

“So they removed their uniforms, put their team strips on, jumped on the coach, came over here, slept for a couple of days, tried to decompress, and went straight into it, and then they’ve got to go back.

“So I think to have them here is extraordinary. And that commitment that they’ve made to leave their country, which is a real hard thing for them to decide to do.

“But they came with their president’s blessings and I don’t think this games could have been the games that it is without Team Ukraine.”

He also revealed that the Ukrainian team had lost four members of its community, due to the war.

Archery instructor Dmytro Sydoruk was killed in action fighting in the war, earlier this month.

Team members Dmytro Oliynyk and Vladimir Motelchuk were both tragically killed in rocket attacks on Mykolaiv on March 29.

Another team member, Sergey Smilin died in service on March 18..

He added: “So, I think it really just brings it home to what is going on across Europe right now. We’ve got over 500 competitors here, with varying different stories and backgrounds. But ultimately we are all together in this.”

One member of staff told the Mail: ‘We know they have been staying here but it is all confidential and we have been told not to talk to anyone about them.’

Harry and Meghan reportedly left the hotel on Sunday night for Amsterdam.

From there, Meghan took a commercial flight back to Los Angeles to be reunited with their three children.

One source told the Mail that the Prince was filming material for Netflix who are making a documentary about the games as a part of the £100million deal struck with the streaming giant.

Since arriving in Holland, the couple have traveled around in a three-car convoy.

On its website the hotel describes the royal suite as “true luxury”.

The suite is comprised of 1,506 sq ft with a private bedroom as well as spacious living and dining areas.

It continues: “Located on the top floor of the hotel, the suite offers striking city views from the private terrace.

“Host an informal meeting in the meeting area and enjoy the convenience of an extra toilet, just off the living area.

“The lavish bathroom boasts Ecosmart technology, as well as two rain forest showers. Special touches include fluffy bathrobes and slippers, a Nespresso machine and a docking station.”
