An elegant country manor house that sits in one of Cheshire’s most affluent areas has been put up for sale with a price tag of £1,850,000 – and it once had David and Victoria Beckham as its neighbours. The property is set in Nether Alderley which was voted as one of Britain’s poshest villages, where the average house price is a staggering £1,025,400.
The area is part of the Cheshire’s Golden Triangle, which attracts celebrities and is known to have been home to footballers Rio Ferdinand and Andy Cole. Beckham and his Spice Girls wife lived in a converted barn on the same grounds as the manor house during David’s days playing for Manchester United. The couple lived there with their son Brooklyn for four years from 2001 until David moved to Real Madrid.
Next door to the Beckham’s former home is the Grade II Listed Heawood Hall, once owned by the well-known brewery family the Boddingtons. Built around 1720, the house was later divided into three separate properties, one being the Beckham’s former barn, and it is part of the original manor that is now up for grabs.

The grand property boasts five bedrooms, large reception rooms, an outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court. Inside, the home has a spacious entrance hall leading to the rooms on the ground floor, which include a 22-foot drawing room, a 28-foot kitchen with a dining area and a family living room.
The bespoke kitchen has classic Shaker style units with a breakfast bar, butcher’s block, granite worktops and a two-oven Aga with a mosaic splashback.
Upstairs on the first floor there are two bedrooms, including the master bedroom with a desirable dressing area and bathroom suite. The dressing room has built-in wardrobes and a vanity unit.
The master bedroom has an en-suite with polished limestone tiles, a modern Victoria and Albert slipper bath and a walk-in shower. The second floor has three additional bedrooms, one of which could be used as an office, plus a further bathroom.
Outdoors, the property sits on 1.69 acres of land with a large timber store, a brick-built workshop, a patio, grass tennis court, outdoor pool and new summerhouse. Heawood Hall is just a five-minute drive from the village of Alderley Edge, which has featured in the ITV show the Real Housewives of Cheshire
Daniel Hayhurst, of Fisher German estate agents, said the house was bought by its owners 21 years ago and they had ‘meticulously’ maintained it with various additions, including a newly installed wet room, summer house and fitted shelving and wardrobes throughout.
“It belongs to a family with older children who are looking to downsize, which is why I think it would be perfect for a growing family. It’s got plenty of space, has beautiful gardens and grounds and is close to two very good private schools as well as being an easy commute to Manchester or Liverpool.
“The property would appeal to anyone who appreciates character in a home, or people downsizing from even larger properties, who would value its location and stylish interior.. Whilst you’re attached to the property behind, you do have neighbors in the vicinity, so it has a safe feel, it’s not remote.”
