A haunted doll who ‘cries acid tears and tries to set herself on fire’ has been rescued by a ghost hunter after a house fire.

Annie the doll, similar to those seen in classic horror movies, was purchased by a supernatural fan who called himself Matt Paranormal, who was intrigued by her background.

The hideous doll was found in a house fire in which the owners died, which makes it all the more terrifying.

Matt, 33, from Wrexham, Wales, told the Daily Star: “After reading about her story with the house fire I knew I wanted to buy it.”

After buying Annie two years ago, Matt experienced a series of strange incidents, including the doll attempting to catch fire.

She claims that her previous owners appeared next to her in pictures and saw the doll cry tears of acid.

The supernatural fan saw Annie at auction in the US and was eager to buy her.

But the doll didn’t cost a lot of money and Matt outfitted it with monitoring equipment to detect any paranormal activity that was going on.

He said: “She cost me £100. After I imported her to the UK I fitted her with paranormal equipment because I thought the spirits of her previous owners would be attached to her.

“It wasn’t until last year that Annie really started to cry.

“I think when he cries it’s his ‘attachment’ way of showing emotions.

He says the doll’s crying followed the death of its owners, who deny being dead.

This, he claims, means that they are ‘demons’ who will not leave their previous lives.

“Annie’s tears are acid, which is demonic. Since their previous owners have not accepted that they are dead, it means that they are classified as devils.”

Matt revealed: “Annie is now kept in a glass box and is under 24-hour surveillance because she keeps trying to set herself on fire.

“From time to time, his clothes burn a little more and char, and his face is now much darker.

“Annie loves fire and last year, every one of my five team members had something to do with a house fire, all on the same day.”

The doll has drawn comparisons to the horror movie toys Chucky and Annabelle that have terrified moviegoers for decades and the horror continues to intrigue.

Matt said people are clamoring to see a hunted doll similar to the ones they’ve seen in the movies.

He said, “Annie is very popular with people who come and visit our headquarters.

“Some people love the thrill of knowing there is a real haunted doll in front of them.

“However, some people entered the door and came out again after seeing it. She gives off a really negative vibe.”
