Former Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn has shared a cheeky comment after her late on-screen character made a reappearance during recent scenes on the soap.
The actress is probably best known for her role in Corrie, playing Sinead Osbourne – nee Tinker – in the ITV soap. The much-loved character died in 2019 after battling cervical cancer. In heartbreaking scenes, the newlywed and new mum passed away with her husband de ella Daniel, played by Rob Mallard, by her side de ella.
Following his wife’s death, Daniel struggled to cope as a single father of the couple’s son Bertie. Viewers saw him paying sex worker Nicky Wheatley to dress up as his late wife Sinead as a way of dealing with his grief. This eventually all come to a head and Nicky ended up leaving the cobbles but made a return last month as Daniel’s new co-worker.

But Daniel’s girlfriend Daisy Midgely was getting increasingly jealous of her boyfriend and Nicky’s friendship so set about a plan. She decided to try and set her up with her ex Ella Ashley without her knowing Ella. When he arrived at the Rovers where Daisy had invited her for a drink, Nicky was embarrassed when he clearly recognized her.
Daisy was then stunned to discover that Ashley knew Nicky from her days as a sex worker and when she confronted Daniel she was in for another shock when he told her that he had also paid Nicky for her time – but not for sex. The pair ended up rowing in the street, overheard by Daniel’s pupil and master of manipulation Max Turner.
But back at the flat, Daniel was forced to admit that while he hadn’t paid Nicky for anything other than wearing Sinead’s clothes, they did sleep together. Daisy ended up issuing him an ultimatum-tell the school about Nicky’s past de ella and get her out of their lives or they’re over for good.
And the moment caught the eye of Sinead actress herself Katie McGlynn. She commented on a clip of Daniel and Daisy’s row which was shared from Coronation Street’s official Twitter account.
“ That isn’t what Daisy expected to hear,” the caption read as Daniel made his confession. To which Katie, who has since starred in Hollyoaks, responded: “I mean who could blame him.”
But the whole debacle left Corrie fans completely divided as they took to social media to have their say
“Don’t let them break up, I love them together. The truth needed to come out I just wish Daniel had done it sooner,” @charliejordan.fanxo said.
@bruisesore echoed: “I love Daisy!!! please let her stay with Daniel!!!”
“I like Daisy now. Please keep her and Daniel together,” @celiafrape commented.
However, @vickiwr03 argued: “Don’t really understand Daisy’s obsession with Daniels past! We all have 1! She either trusts him or she doesn’t, and without, there’s no relationship.”
“Please don’t shoot me…. I can’t stand Daisys character and I really don’t think her and Daniel make a credible couple,” @fizzyblech said.
@ct1979 shared: “The way she reacted towards Daniels grief for Sinead was horrid, better without her.”
