Easter opening times for Aldi, ASDA, Tesco, Lidl, M&S, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s



This weekend it’s Easter, meaning all major supermarkets will be altering their opening hours due to it being a Bank Holiday on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. We have compiled a list of opening times for every major supermarket in the UK.

Here are the opening times for Aldi, ASDA, Tesco, Lidl, Morrisons, M&S, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

Aldi

The budget supermarket’s opening hours on Good Friday (April 15) and Easter Saturday (April 16) will be between 8am -10pm.

Aldi will be closed on Easter Sunday (April 17), before reopening on Easter Monday (April 18) from 8am-8pm.

The supermarket has said opening hours may differ depending on location.

ASDA

ASDA stores across the UK will be open during the Easter holidays as well and the opening hours do differ but appear to be closed on Easter Sunday.

Asda Eastlands for example will be open 24 hours on Good Friday and close midnight on Saturday 16 April. It will be closed on Easter Sunday and open 7am to 8pm Easter Monday.

Asda Trafford Park will be open 24 hours on Good Friday and close 10pm on Saturday. It will be closed on Easter Sunday and reopen at 7.30pm on Monday until 8pm.

Tesco

Tesco’s opening hours across the UK differ. On Good Friday most stores will be open from either 7am or 6am, depending on the size of the store and location.

Express stores and larger stores will be open on Easer Sunday and Monday from 8am-8pm.

Tesco Failsworth for example will be open 6am to 10pm on Good Friday. As normal on Saturday, closed Easter Sunday and open 8am to 6pm Easter Monday.

Tesco Express on Market Street, Manchester, will be open from 6am to midnight on Good Friday, as normal on Saturday, closed Easter Sunday and open 9am to 6pm on Easter Monday.

But Tesco Express in Adlington will be open 6am to 11pm Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

M&S

All M&S Foodhalls will be open on Good Friday, Saturday April and Easter Monday. This includes larger stores.

Most Marks & Spencer stores appear to be closed for Easter Sunday.

For example M&S Middlebrook will be open 9am to 8pm on Good Friday, 8am to 7pm on Saturday, closed Easter Sunday, and open 9am to 8pm Easter Monday.

M&S Simply Food in Prestwich is open 8am to 8pm on Good Friday and Saturday, closed Easter Sunday and open 8am to 8pm on Easter Sunday.

Lidl

Lidl stores opening hours can vary across the country over the Easter bank holiday but in general they will be open from 8am to 10pm on Good Friday and Saturday. They will be closed on Easter Sunday and open 8am to 8pm Easter Monday.

For example, Lidl on Manchester Road, Bolton, will be open 8am to 10pm Good Friday and Saturday, closed Sunday, and open 8am to 8pm on Monday.

morrisons

Morrisons opening hours differ depending on your location but most appear to be closed on Easter Sunday.

For example Morrisons Chadderton and Morrisons Leigh are open 6am to 10pm Good Friday and Saturday, closed Easter Sunday and open 7am to 8pm Easter Monday.

Morrisons Dukinfield is slightly different and is open 7am to 10pm on Good Friday and Saturday, closed Easter Sunday and open 7am to 8pm Easter Monday.

Waitrose

Waitrose opening hours differ depending on your location but most appear to be closed on Easter Sunday.

For example, Waitrose in Wilmslow will be open 8am to 8pm Good Friday, closed Easter Sunday, and open 9am to 6pm on Easter Monday.

Waitrose in Altrincham is open 8am to 8pm Good Friday, closed Easter Sunday and open 8am to 8pm on Easter Monday.

Waitrose in Poynton is open 9am to 8pm Good Friday, closed Easter Sunday and open 8am to 7pm on Easter Monday.

Sainsbury’s

Like all supermarkets, hours for Sainsbury’s will vary over the bank holiday weekend, but appear to be closed on Easter Sunday.

For example Heaton Park superstore will be open 7am to 11pm Good Friday, 7am to 10pm Saturday, closed Easter Sunday and from 8am to 8pm on Easter Monday.

The Salford superstore is open 7am to 11pm on Good Friday, 7am to 10pm Saturday, closed Easter Sunday and 8am to 8pm Easter Monday.
