From Tesco, Asda, Lidl, Aldi and Morrisons, here’s everything you need to know about store opening and closing times on Easter Sunday and Monday

The supermarkets reduce their opening times over Easter

The Easter bank holiday weekend is in full swing, and hopefully you’ve already stocked up on all the goodies you need.

Now coronavirus restrictions have eased, it’s time to finally spend some precious time with loved ones this Easter.

Easter is the most important festival in the Christian calendar celebrating Jesus rising from the dead three days after he was executed. But for many it’s also a time to spend with family, take part in egg hunts and eating lots of chocolate.

Most supermarkets will thankfully be open on Easter Sunday, so you can pick up Easter eggs, hot cross buns, booze or any other basics you may have forgotten to pick up.

Several will also be open on Easter Monday, but it’s a good idea to check opening times before heading out to avoid disappointment.

Here we’ve listed all the details you need to know, but make sure you also check your local supermarket’s store locator tool for more specific opening and closing hours.
