By cracking open the bubbly and blasting out the Beastie Boys, Downing Street officials have stuck up two fingers at those who suffered in lockdown and abided by the rules.

The sheer arrogance of their behavior shows that this is a mob who knows their time is up and are celebrating like they were in the last days of the Roman Empire.

Even after the shame heaped on them for breaking lockdown with two parties on the eve of Prince Philip’s funeral, even after dragging the reputation of the highest office in the land through the mud, let alone the tarnished character of its occupant, they feel they have not done enough damage.

The entitlement of this scandal-ridden rabble, led by a Prime Minister who thinks he cannot possibly be expected to follow the laws he sets for others, is nauseating.

We do not really need to wait for the Sue Gray report – the dogs in the street know what happened and what kind of tone Boris Johnson and his party-happy pals set for his staff.

There were wholesale parties in Downing Street which broke the rules Boris Johnson set for the rest of us.
