Donald Trump has claimed that Meghan Markle has been “disrespectful” to the Queen and the royals while saying that Harry has been “used terribly” by her.
This is from a twice-divorced former US president who was accused of sexual assault or misconduct by multiple women, was disrespectful and insulting to women and men on many occasions, and had one of the worst approval ratings of all time.
Trump was critical of the Duchess of Sussex in a wide-ranging interview with Nigel Farage where he said that one day Harry “will regret” the way that his relationship with the rest of the royals has been ruined.
It’s not the first time Trump has said cruel things about Meghan, who called him “divisive” and “misogynistic” during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Trump said of Meghan in an interview for GB News: “I’m not a fan of hers. I wasn’t from day one. I think Harry has been used horribly and I think someday he will regret it.”
He continued: “I think Harry’s been used and been used terribly.
“I think it’s ruined his relationship with his family, and it hurts the Queen.”
Meghan and Harry moved to the US last year and have been critical of the Royal Family when speaking to American media including a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Harry said he needed to break the cycle and bring his family up differently while Meghan alleged racism by an unnamed royal.
Trump spoke to Farage in Florida with the full interview to be broadcast on Wednesday.
In response to Farage’s claim that Meghan was using Duchess of Sussex headed writing paper to lobby members of Congress, Trump said: “She is trying do things that I think are very inappropriate.”
He said: “I think she’s very disrespectful to the Royal Family and most importantly to the Queen.”
During the interview, Trump called the Queen “a great woman, such a great person, a historic person”.
Trump has spoken before of his admiration for the Queen.
During his state visit to the UK in summer 2019, Trump praised the royals saying: “The Queen and the entire Royal Family have been fantastic.
“The relationship with the United Kingdom is very strong.”
While at the same time he has been critical of Meghan and Harry on a number of occasions.
Trump reportedly said of Meghan in The Sun in 2019: “I didn’t know that she was nasty.”
And over their departure from the Royal Family, in 2020, he tweeted: “I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom.
“It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada.
“Now they have left Canada for the US however, the US will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!”
When the couple urged people to vote in the 2020 election, Mr Trump told reporters: “I’m not a fan of hers and I would say this, and she probably has heard that.
“But I wish a lot of luck to Harry, cause he’s going to need it.”
