Dancing On Ice’s Jayne Torvill was left very emotional after Regan Gascoigne and partner Karina Manta’s performance of their famous Barnum routine in the show’s first-ever Torvill and Dean week.

Sunday’s Dancing On Ice saw some of the programme’s best performances in its history, as just five couples now remain watching for a spot in the final.

But one person who seems pretty tough to beat is Regan, who showed his continued determination to make it all the way last night.

During his latest routine – based on Torvill and Dean’s classic Barnum performance – Jayne was reduced to tears as she clearly felt touched by their skate.

As she became very emotional, she told him: ‘We know that technically your skating has always been good, but tonight everything came together.

‘But I think the performance… I’m getting emotional now,’ she added, as she stopped to try and compose herself through her tears.

Chris also flooded the pair with compliments after they included original choreography, adding: ‘it was like an abridged version of Barnum.’

After receiving his feedback, a tearful Regan replied: ‘It was such an honor to recreate part of your life.

‘It’s just insane. It’s not even just a story, it’s a life for you.’

They skated off with a score of 40 points, with viewers also getting choked up by their routine.

One commented: ‘OMG. Regan. Jayne. This is far too emotional. #DancingOnIce

‘Best dance tonight, Barnum by miles. Very good #dancingonice,’ someone else said.

Another wrote: ‘Just caught Regan and Karina’s version of @torvillanddean’s legendary Barnum routine. It’s one of my all-time favorite routines of Chris and Jayne’s and they totally did it justice! #dancingonice.’

‘Gosh! Regan & Karina did that Barnum original great justice. Love it!!! A brilliant partnership #DancingOnIce,’ added a fan.

‘I genuinely think this is one of the best shows we have ever done,’ Phillip said after three couples landed the ultimate score of 40 points.

Paralympian Stef Reid was the latest celebrity to get eliminated, as she became the seventh to lose the skate-off against Kye Whyte.

Kye will now perform in the semi-final of this year’s series alongside Brendan Cole, Kimberly Wyatt, Connor Ball and Regan.

But who will make it to this year’s end, and become the winner of Dancing On Ice 2022?

Dancing On Ice continues on Sunday at 6pm on ITV
