Corrie fans celebrate return of Todd Grimshaw with George Shuttleworth

Coronation Street fans were celebrating a reunion on the famous cobbles as actor Gareth Pierce posted new snaps with co-star Tony Maudsley.

The pair play comical undertaker duo Todd Grimshaw and George Shuttleworth on Corrie, and it’s been a while since the pair have had scenes together on the soap.

Fans have missed the camaraderie between boss George and his employee.

In December there was typical mayhem when the blundering pair presented Eileen Grimshaw, Todd’s mum and George’s love interest, with a coffin for Christmas as part of a bespoke funeral package after nemesis Gail Rodwell had a word in George’s ear.

Gareth took to Instagram with two photos – a smiley picture in color and a moody shot in black and white – of the partnership outside Shuttleworths Independent Funeral Services.

“We’re actually THRILLED to be reunited (as you can see from photo #2!),” wrote Gareth.

Co-star Jack P Shepherd commented: “Ah the new Hitchcock film?”

He tagged his location and posted it alongside Royal Blood track Trouble’s Coming, potentially hinting at what is to come for his scheming character.

Todd’s ex Billy Mayhew, played by Daniel Brocklebank, believed Todd had turned over a new leaf when he returned to Weatherfield after going on the run in the soap in 2017.

He left the cobbles with their foster daughter Summer Spellman to keep her away from her evil grandmother Geraldine, but she returned without him and it was revealed that he was in trouble for assaulting a police officer.

After his return he plotted to split Billy from Paul Foreman and rekindle their romance.

The characters were due to get married but Todd’s betrayal was revealed to a horrified Billy and Summer.
