What are the main roads affected by the ice and snow storm?
As is customary in these cases, the DGT has set up a special page where you can consult all kinds of information about the main roads affected by the storm. Something that will help us organize our trip in case we have to leave during the next few hours, since we will be able to identify which are the motorways and expressways most affected by ice and snow.
According to the DGT on its website, the roads most affected by the storm are located in provinces such as Huesca, Teruel and Zaragoza. Also in other regions of the north of the country such as Asturias, Cantabria, Navarra and La Rioja, where cuts are expected in some roads as a result of heavy snowfall. With regard to Catalonia and Castilla y León, the agency foresees complications in provinces such as Ávila, Burgos, León, Soria, Barcelona and Lleida.
Check the state of roads in real time
Would you like to know what the current state of the roads is? The General Directorate of Traffic has a map, which you can access at the following link, where you can find everything that happens on our roads in real time. From the main retentions that we can find as a result of ice or snow to the recommendations of the General Directorate of Traffic to face each of them.
While in some of them it will mark us that we must travel with caution, in others they will tell us that they are directly impassable. Thanks to this, and in the event that the road we are traveling on is full of snow or directly cut off to traffic, we will be able to look for alternatives in a matter of seconds. After clicking on any incident, The General Directorate of Traffic will offer us all kinds of details about it. From the time the incident was registered to the problem that caused it. After explaining the exact kilometer in which the incident in question is located, the platform will offer us additional information such as possible lane cuts to guarantee the circulation of vehicles.
