For the first time in the history of the Goya Awards, Cate Blanchett has received the International Goya for “being an extraordinary figure in world cinema.” A new recognition from the Film Academy for “personalities who contribute to cinema as an art that unites cultures and viewers around the world.”
The actress began by thanking her in Spanish and joked that that’s all she knew about the language, but she hopes to “improve her level” when she starts shooting Manual for cleaning womenfilm by Pedro Almodovar.
