Alavés concedes the defeat against Villarreal and ends the year in relegation places

The Albiazul team lost 5-2 against the Castellón team in the late match of LaLiga Santander matchday 4. Alavés is 18th in the standings with 15 points.

Alavés lost against Villarreal (5-2) this Tuesday at the La Cerámica stadium on delayed match corresponding to the 4th round of LaLiga Santander and the team from Vitoria ends the year 2021 in relegation places.

The albiazul set occupies the 18th place in the standings with 15 points, the same ones that Elche and Getefe have that are out of the descent. Cádiz is second to last with 14 points and the bottom position corresponds to a Levante that has 8 points.

The match started with a lot of rhythm, although without clear scoring chances. Little by little, Villarreal took over the game, giving the first warning in the 16th minute with a shot from Chukwueze that went wide. However, a minute later, the home team took the lead with goal by Gerard Moreno (1-0); Villarreal linked a great play, Parejo gave a masterful pass to Moreno and the Catalan striker sent the ball to the squad of the goal defended by Pacheco.

The goal received hurt the Vitoria team and Villarreal was far superior. In the 21st minute Trigueros missed a clear chance to score after an error by Loum in the ball exit, and in the 27th minute Villarreal made it 2-0 on the scoreboard; Boulaye Dia received a deep pass and beat Pacheco.

The crash was very difficult for an Alavés who was unable to create danger in the rival goal. The referee annulled a Chukwueze goal for offside in the 34th minute. It seemed that the match was going to come to the break with two goals ahead for the team led by Unai Emery, but Alavés did not give up, Joselu prolonged inside of the area a lateral center and Pere Pons made it 2-1 volley.

The two teams jumped onto the pitch with the intention of going on the attack and scoring a few more goals. Alavés first warned with a shot by Pere Pons that narrowly went wide, but Villarreal’s response came immediately through a Chukwueze shot that found no goal. At minute 65, Pau Torres took a free kick near his area, gave the ball to Joselu and the Alavés forward made it 2-2 on the scoreboard after beating goalkeeper Rulli who was ahead.

Alavés achieved the most difficult thing; tie a game that was very uphill with the initial 2-0. Villarreal reacted, went on the attack and in minute 77 went ahead again; Parejo gave a good pass to Boulaye Dia and the local team player beat Pacheco with a cross shot (3-2).

Alavés did not have time to digest his rival’s third goal and Yeremi Pino scored the 4-2 in the 79th minute, after pushing a ball yielded by Boulaye Dia into the net. Also, at minute 87, Gerad Moreno rounded off Villarreal’s victory after scoring 5-2 definitive.
