This Thursday, rainfall will be abundant, especially in the northern half. In addition, temperatures will drop again and the snow level will be around 1000-1100 meters.
The Basque Meteorological Agency, Euskalmet, has established the yellow warning for precipitation persistent on the Cantabrian slope throughout the day today.
On Friday rainfall will be less abundant, but it will continue to rain, especially on the Cantabrian slope. The cloud cover will be abundant and the temperatures will not vary or will continue to drop slightly. The wind will blow from the northwest, but in the afternoon it will be set to the west component, blowing gusty near the coast. The snow level around 1000 meters, will rise at night to 1200 meters.
Saturday we will have an even more wintry day. Rainfall will be very abundant, especially in the northern half, and also, storms and hail will be likely, especially during the second half of the day. To this must be added strong wind from the northwest, with strong gusts, and very strong in exposed areas,
especially on the coast. The temperatures in slight decrease; Maximum around 8-9 ºC on the coast and 5-6 ºC inland. The minimums will be given last
hours of the day. The snow level will decrease, reaching around 800-900 meters in the early morning, around 600-800 meters at noon, and 400-600 meters during the second half of the day. In addition, in storm areas the snow level could be occasionally lower.
On Saturday Euskalmet has established the yellow warning for persistent rainfall on the Cantabrian slope throughout the day. Also, there will be another yellow warning for snow inside all day and another notice by maritime-coastal risk for navigation in the first two miles throughout the day.
On Sunday instability remains. Very cloudy or overcast skies will predominate, leaving weak to moderate rainfall; on the Cantabrian slope they will be very abundant and persistent with the probability that they will be stormy and be accompanied by hail. The snow level will be around 400-600 meters, rising to around 1000-1200 meters at the end of the day. The wind will blow moderate from the northwest, with strong gusts, and very strong in exposed areas. Temperatures in slight decrease and weak frosts in mountain areas and in Álava.
