Anyone that wishes to run for a position of office must be attending Frank Phillips College this fall and have a 2.5 GPA.

The responsibilities for the different positions are as follows:

The President acts as the head of the SGA and has a seat on the board of appeals.

“The President will receive a $500 scholarship,” said assistant professor of federal and Texas government Lydia Howell.

The Vice-President in charge of the meetings and takes over for the President when they are unavailable.

The Secretary records the meetings and contacts members of SGA for future events.

For those interested joining SGA, the next meeting will be on Tuesday. The meeting will be held in CLC 21 at 12:35 P.M. and there will be pizza. Anyone that wants to come to the meetings join, ask questions, or respectfully put forth their own ideas for what the student government should do is more than welcome.

“Do your part as a member of this community,” said Wesley White, president of Student Government Association.

Those wishing to run for the different positions in the SGA may sign up to be put in the election on the sheets on the walls in the CLC building, the table in the foyer, and on the side of the snack machines.
